What a dad

I know I tend to either criticize or gush, but it is high time I gushed about Cort's parenting. First of all, this week has been rough! I've had some home projects I've been yearning to finish, but then Claire got a fever this week, and to add to the frustration, the boys have been hating the desert heat. Then on top of everything yesterday we had a wicked monsoon rainstorm and it flooded our playroom. Thankfully, it is an undeniable fact that Cort is a terrific dad. Yes, I usually have to remind everyone at dinner "No singing at the table" and wrestling can run way past bedtime, but the children all adore their dad and he them. He dances with Claire, he reads scripture stories with the boys every single night (upon Elliot's diligent insistence), and he does nighttime rituals like teeth brushing with nary a complaint. Today Charlotte spent a lot of the day fussing, and it was great that after dinner when I had hit my breaking point, Cort swept her up in the Baby Bjorn and took her until her next feeding. The following is a little of how she spent her day -- I didn't take any fussy pictures because I was a little busy trying every trick in the book. I've pieced together that she loves nursing and baths and the Bjorn and rides in the car. And tonight we found out she loves Dad's piano music. What a dad.

Ohhhh! That is a great dad.
ps - I just caught up on reading your side bar -- SO funny... especially love the breast feeding ones, and the shapeshifter comment. Your boys are hilarious.

I'm so sorry to hear about your home owner struggles -- ARG! We had a flood in our basement the first year we owned our first home in Colorado - that was crazy! And new baby on top for us too! Well if you want to escape all that heat get in your car and go for a drive to um ...maybe Seattle? I've been freezing ever since we got here! We just found a house and will be moving in next week - you guys are more than welcome to come for a visit!!

Way to BE Cort!

I spent the day trying to decide on choir music for Christmas (yes, it's early, but there's a sale). All I can say is I'd pay a lot to have a fabulous tenor like Cort move into our ward! And thanks for reminding me to try our the baby bjorn for piano playing. I usually just give up for the first few baby months, but now I have hope. : ) Miss you guys!
