settling in

It's been a funny few weeks. Aside from the dog drama, the kids are getting into their stride at school, and in life. What I LOVE about living in our house is that the kids get along so well. It's amazing what some space allows. Elliot will spend the afternoon in his room -- reading, drawing, building something. Ethan loves finding little nooks to read a book, and I love giving them the freedom to do what they want without being under my feet. Don't be mistaken -- I love the space, too!

More of my favorite things about our house (despite the normal pitfalls of firsttime homeownership, the nationwide mortgage crisis, and the collapse of the free market):

1. Buying in bulk
2. Being able to experience the rising and setting sun light from different rooms in our house (you'll have had to live in an apartment for a substantial amt of time to understand that one)
3. Cooking big meals -- i.e. having counterspace and a dishwasher
4. Fixed rate mortgage
5. Great neighbors!

I think that's it. But I do like it. We're finally starting to find our groove.

I am glad you are doing better. I knew you would. And i hear ya about happy kids. Wow, I think they like having a house more than I do. They're so content to play and read and draw. and sometimes they forget that I am around: yes! Just kidding.

When are you coming for Christmas?

how fun! Your house looks great and the kids are cute as ever. I can't believe how grown up Claire is getting. You forgot to mention that now you have the space and time and sanity for another little babe! Can't wait to hear that news :)
just kidding- sort of.
