At the crack of dawn, Elliot and Poochie and I went for a early showing of the balloon fiesta. We just wanted to drive past and see if we could see anything from the interstate.
"Hooray!" I thought to myself. I got one good picture to report back to Ethan.
Then I got stuck in traffic on the off ramp to get back home. I couldn't believe my luck!
We watched the balloons launch from right next to where we were "parked."

Do yourself a favor: Turn the volume down on the bottom of this video -- the only sound is the loud rush of traffic.
Sufficeth to say, I have more than enough pictures for Ethan -- about 50. But I think these were the ones that were the best.
What a sight! I can't wait for the Chase family to visit next weekend, where we will go directly to the park and be next to the balloons while they launch. But I doubt we will feel as home as we were sitting in our car stuck on the off ramp for a half an hour. What a great way to spend the time before anyone else in the family woke up.
