sorry, no pictures

Well, while we were in NM, I broke our camera and it is definitely kaput. So before graduation, I will have to figure something out! I'm sad, too, because this weekend was filled with picture taking moments and reasons we shouldn't leave. First, we had a great Friday night dinner with Rhett and Patty and stayed up until 10:30 gabbing away -- which is just so fun and when we left we were both so sad that we have to move!! Then on Saturday we went to our friends' house in Connecticut and their great yard and all the lush forest was so beautiful, definitely made us somber at the thought of leaving the East coast behind. It's just been kindof whirlwinds of emotion these days, for sure.

This week is graduation! Thursday is the hooding ceremony, and Friday is the big day. We used to put on the graduates breakfast downstairs when we were GCs, so I can't wait to take part on the other side (although I have thoroughly gorged myself on the breakfast every single year we've lived here, so in practice, it won't be any different). Cort is going to work this week, finishing a paper he promised he'd do for his advisors before we leave, so it will feel like a semi-real week at first, but he'll take time off once his folks get here on Weds night through the weekend. Kids don't get through with school for another two weeks, so things will feel normal until we leave.

Sorry no great pictures, but soon... soon.

I'm so glad I discovered your blog- who knew? Not me! So I have to tell you the whole house bidding thing will always work out the way it should! We had the exact same thing happen to us (someone beat us by hours putting in a bid) and we LOVE our place a lot more than we would have liked the other place. You'll love the new ABQ place- it looks great!

I agree, Bonnie -- the inspection and appraisal of our house just came through very well, and our realtor wasn't sure about the house with the great playground, so that makes me feel pretty good about our decision. And hey, maybe they'll have some great friends down the street, right? I mean, Eastgate hasn't been exactly prime real estate (except for the view), but we wouldn't have made it without the Charles', so I couldn't have picked a better address for here. Let's hope my homing skills are as good in ABQ.
