leapin' lizards!
I'm learning to be ok with Albuquerque, but I am not crazy about the lizards, even though I had one when I was a teen. I understand how you would be confused. But the one I had was a rain forest anole and it was really beautiful and calm -- and the pet store owner handed me the aquarium and I didn't have to ever touch it (but I did have to feed it crickets, which was gross). These wild NM lizards are really freaky because well, they live in our front yard, and they are still like statues until catch one, and then it spins its legs furiously. But the boys were insistent. So one day last week, we caught one (let it be said that I am the one who caught it ... honestly, the things I do for my children), and observed it for a while. Mistakenly, I thought it would like some water in its holding chamber (like my rainforest lizard liked) and it FREAKED out. I wish I had that on camera. Then we put a hot rock to warm it up, and it was still for two hours.

Hey, how fun to see you have a blog! Don't know if you even remember us, from way back when in Cambridge. :p Anyway, we just barely moved to TX. We have lizards, too. And giant tree roaches. Those win, hands down. I can take a lizard any day. Roaches, not so much. Especially when they fly... Anyway, fun to "find" you again. It'll be nice to catch up on what you guys have been up to. :o)
That lizard felt like he had a pretty good gig goin!
yeah - at our house Derek finds caterpillars - it's amazing it's like he's a magnet for them! Thanks for sharing this post - can't wait to show the kids...
