you are my starshine

Ethan gave presentation on the US Presidents today at school. It was so impressive. He:
* gave them a tour of our trip to D.C., complete with an explanation of the geography of D.C.
* stunned his class by his impressive naming of all 43 presidents in order in less than a minute and a half
* was a good sport and played "Stump the Chump" where he showed his amazing Presidential Fun Fact trivia knowledge against the class' guesses. For example, Gerald Ford was the only VP and P not elected to the office, but rather appointed after VP Agnew had to resign for felony charges, then took Nixon's place after he resigned. After no one knew the answer, he answered and then expounded, "I think he was just in the right place at the right time... If you could call being Nixon's VP the right place!" His timing was impeccable and his teacher just about died laughing!
* did a book report on a book called "The Kid Who Ran for President" (that he started to read two days ago, and stayed up until 10pm finishing -- already learning to cram from the master)

The kids did Presidential Bingo while we presented all the info, and the kids had a lot of fun! Afterward, at lunch, we were sitting with his friends -- all 4th graders and they told me that they've made a petition that Ethan should get into 5th grade next year, because they want him to come to all the field trips with them. As one of his friends said, "A kid who does all fourth grade work and knows all the presidents really shouldn't be wasting his time without us." Does that mean he should be wasting his time as long as it's with them? I didn't quite understand that part.
