Weekend update

Our life is overrun with lizards
fortunately (or maybe not) they are all pretty small -- see battery for scale:
a friend dropped off my casserole dish on the front porch and this little critter found itself stuck inside, thereby allowing me to exploit it with photography (which it didn't appreciate). The kids love these things and Ethan catches them constantly. Oy!

The slideshow is a little of Elliot and Claire, but mostly Claire and her baby ("Tay-tay"). Jakson presented her with this baby last month, but she didn't have any interest or idea what to do with it. Well, the last week, it's been constant baby time. She points to herself and says, "Mama." She makes sure her baby's hat is on tight and her "num num" is in her mouth and she carries her around. When she tires of this, she hands me the baby and tells me to take her ("Here, Mama, Tay-tay"). If later, she comes in the room and I'm doing something and NOT holding and caring for her baby and I've callously left the doll laying on the counter (which happens every single time she has given her to me), she freaks out! "Tay Tay! Mama! Tay Tay! Tay Tay!" until I pick up the baby doll, start rocking it, and sing the baby a lullaby. Whew -- my mom is right -- being a grandmother is hard work.
